the Pflugerville Area Democrats are proud to endorse:
Doug Weiss
For Mayor of Pflugerville
I’m Doug Weiss, and I’ve lived in Pflugerville for over 17 years. I’ve been involved in the community since I got here, serving on committees and neighborhood associations. I was appointed to the PCDC board in 2009 where I served for over a decade, bringing businesses and commercial development to town while funding park improvements and public safety. As your Councilman for the past nine years, I’ve directed Pflugerville’s growth into a community recognized nationally — ranked #5 Best Place to Live in Texas, #9 Best Small City in the U.S., and #15 Best Place to Live overall by U.S. News & World Report. As your Mayor, I want to build on that momentum and ensure Pflugerville remains vibrant and livable for years to come.
Jonathan Coffman
For Pflugerville City Council Place 1
Jonathan Coffman has called Pflugerville home for more than 12 years. He serves as Chair of the Planning and Zoning Commission and the Capital Improvement Advisory Committee, where he has worked to balance affordability, infrastructure, and environmental resilience, helping shape Pflugerville’s $2B+ capital improvement plan. A graduate of Pflugerville 101 and the Citizens’ Police Academy, Jonathan believes the first step to improving local government is understanding how it works. He has also served as a precinct chair and Treasurer of the Pflugerville Area Democrats.
Professionally, Jonathan is a technology product executive who leads large, complex programs worth up to $500M annually. He brings that same experience in strategic planning, innovation, and team leadership to public service. Earlier in his career, he worked in public media with PBS and NPR, where he learned how to make complicated issues clear and accessible. Locally, he has helped organize efforts such as the record-setting COTA COVID-19 vaccine drive and regularly volunteers with the League of Women Voters’ First Vote program, registering high school students and encouraging civic engagement. He is also passionate about supporting organizations that focus on food insecurity in and around Pflugerville.
Jonathan’s campaign is focused on the issues residents discuss every day: lowering water bills with fairer rates that reward conservation, ensuring new growth pays its share instead of burdening current residents, and ensuring that teachers, first responders, seniors, and young families can afford to live in Pflugerville. He supports smart growth that brings good jobs and businesses, diverse housing options that keep Pflugerville welcoming, and mobility improvements that make it safer to drive, bike, and walk. He also champions fiscal responsibility, transparent decision-making, and ensuring first responders have the resources they need as the community grows. Jonathan’s track record on city commissions shows his collaborative leadership and commitment to keeping Pflugerville affordable, safe, and thriving.
